    🪂 YOUTH DEVOTIONAL
    THE SPIRIT OF GOD

Youth Devotionals is dedicated to God, and everyone of us reading it with all sincerity of hearts. We are doing this to help us grow spiritually, and to help us stand strong with God in this difficult and end time.

We’ll start sharing Youth Devotional on Mondays and Fridays, so we can meditate on it, understand it, and apply it in our lives, throughout the week. We are not wasting our time! Rather, we are investing our precious time in God’s word. Don’t be too busy for God; set apart a time to read God’s word every time and remain blessed forever for doing so. Amen!

Today, we’ll continue this month’s teaching series: The Just Shall Live By Faith. The topic this week is THE SPIRIT OF GOD.

Who is the Spirit of God?
The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus Christ promised, to teach, help, direct, guide, and comfort us, as we continue in our race here on earth. The Spirit of God is only available and works effectively for The Just. Who are The Just? The Just are the true lovers of God, those who remain steadfast in God, those who depend absolutely on God, those who don’t put trust in any man, but hope and trust in God alone.

    The Bible says:
The Just shall live by faith. They shall continually enjoy God’s blessings; it doesn’t matter what the current financial situation in the world is saying today, the just which is you and I shall remain blessed.

However, we shouldn’t forget that the devil is not sleeping. He’s not relaxing in this end time; he’s aware that his time is gradually coming to an end. He’s on a serious mission to steal, kill and destroy – John 10:10. His mission, focus, and target are The Just, the children of God, you and I. May the Devil not have his way in our lives. Amen!

One major challenge “The Just” are facing today is FEAR. The devil has radically sent the spirit of fear to afflict many Christians today, to make us believe that God is a liar, to make us believe that The Just will not survive by faith but by the love of money, and to make us doubt all God’s word and His promises for our lives.

We thank God for the Holy Spirit, the spirit of the living God, who is available for us; who is always there to guide us, to comfort us, to teach and direct us at all times, so we don’t fall victim to the tricks and lies of the devil.

But It’s so unfortunate that many Christians still neglect, forget or misunderstand the Holy Spirit. Many don’t understand his assignment and office; many don’t understand that he is here to help us, so we don’t fall into temptation, so we don’t become a victim, prey, or a loser to the devil.

We shouldn’t deceive ourselves. Going to church doesn’t make us children of God. Bearing Christian names doesn’t make us sons and daughters of God, joining the choir, ushering or evangelism team doesn’t make us children of God. It is deeper than we think. That is why many so-called Christians, church workers, and servants of God, despite their works for God, despite attending church services now and then, they keep falling into sin and backsliding because they are not rooted in God’s word.

Beloved, Accept Jesus Christ truly into your life today! This is the first step you need to take to welcome the Spirit of God into your life. Don’t procrastinate! Free yourself from assumptions, and free yourself from deceptions… Accept Jesus Christ now or never! Accept Him into your life, or watch the evil spirits build apartments and invite more demonic tenants into your life. God forbid!

To avoid being tormented or manipulated by the devil, to avoid suffering, sickness, poverty, sorrows, and sudden death, you need to run fast to Jesus Today and be saved forever, before it is too late!!!

Whether you’ve given your life to Jesus Christ or not, please pray this prayer now, to be sure of your salvation in Christ, or ask for the renewing of the power of the Holy Spirit.

    ● Pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I come before you today as a sinner. I confess all my sins before you today. I have disobeyed and disregarded you, and I have pleased myself to displease you. I don’t deserve your mercies and love towards me. Have mercy on me! Wash my sins away with your precious blood, and Accept me today as your covenant child. I surrender my life to you completely; Accept me today, and be my lord and my savior. I promise to follow you till the end of the days of my life. Thank you, Jesus!

Hope you prayed that prayer! Congratulations!!! The Devil has no place in your life again! Keep studying the word of God, and always pray before sleeping and after waking daily. Kindly react if you’re blessed today, or let’s get feedback from you by commenting here: Youthful Praise Chats

  • Treat People Right!

All Vendors should learn more about customer relations, how to treat people right, and how to start and maintain good relationships with people, both current and future customers. This applies to everyone, in our daily dealings.

The relationship you have with people, especially your customers is the lifeblood of your business. Mess it up and your business is doomed! Many business people don’t understand this! Treat people well and they will always come back to patronize you, bringing scores of other potential customers with them.

Your customer referral is the oxygen your business needs to survive and flourish. Each customer treated well is a brand ambassador. They will carry your business on their head, without charging you a dime for advertising your business and shouting your name from the rooftops for free. Certainly, those who treat customers well will flourish in their businesses.

  • Make Impact!

What is life without making any Impact? Wasted! Impact is simply your good deed, your sacrifices and kind gesture towards others, what you will be forever remembered for, in the lives of those you deeply touched.

Many lived longer, yet no impact. Adam the first man lived 960 years of no impact. Despite God satisfying Methuselah with the longest life any man could ever live, 969 years, yet no impact. Though in other faith, Methuselah is regarded as a prophet. His appearance in Genesis was brief. His father, Enoch had the shortest lifespan in his time, 365years, walked with God so much that he never saw death – Genesis 5:21-24. Enoch’s grandson, Noah lived a life of impact to be forever remembered.

Our Lord Jesus Christ lived 33 years of impact. He made the greatest impact ever, forever remembered for his love and sacrifices paid on the cross. At age 12, he started impacting lives, teaching men the gospel of truth and hope. Again, he made a remarkable impact in the marriage at Cana in Galilee, miraculously turning water into wine at the point when all hope were lost for the married couples and family; he came through for Mary and Martha when Lazarus, their brother was laid to rest. Jesus’s fame went abroad. The Bible says – Jesus went about doing good, making great impacts.

Severally, Jesus healed the brokenhearted and recovery of sight to the blind, raised the dead back to life and fulfilled his mission on earth. He made a very big difference, suffered and bled for our sins, and took upon himself our guilt, shame and sins. He brought us out of darkness into His marvelous light; all these he did within short period of time.

Making A Difference starts with determination, passion and love for the things of God. Abraham was serious for God, He passionately followed and loved God with all his heart; he impacted his family, showing them the way of the LORD. As a result of his faithfulness to God, he was blessed beyond measures and his blessings extended to his children, including you and I, children of Abraham by covenant.

Working for God is both rewarding and challenging. As a worker of God or a kingdom labourer, you’re a role model to many; you are there to help others grow as Disciples of Jesus Christ, and there as a Counselor to help those who are discouraged, giving them more reasons why serving God pays.

You make impact and become recognized by doing your best, putting smiles on people’s faces, making a difference and contributing to the growth of wherever you find yourself. Making Impact requires extraordinary efforts, sacrifice and dedication; it requires patience and determination to succeed. Making Impact doesn’t happen through laziness, but hardwork, it doesn’t come through eye-service, but heart-service. Reach-out! Make An Impact!

  • Discovering Yourself

Discovering and knowing your identity begins with a journey with God. If you’re wondering who you truly are, you need to know what God says about you. He says you are peculiar; you’re a city set on the hill that cannot be hidden. You’re a shinning star, beautifully created to make a difference.

Don’t shy away from your insecurities. Don’t shy away from that which makes you different. You’re special and unique; created for a purpose, to fulfil destiny, and to be a blessing to many.

Allow God to reveal how He sees you. Allow Him to reveal to you the true desires of your heart. And allow Him to lay a secure foundation for you, built on his unconditional love, that you might live vulnerably and honestly.

My Journey Into Ministry, How It All Started (Continued) Read Episode 2

My Journey into Ministry… How it all began PART 3.

I wouldn’t even take a second glance at the mirror before picking up my school bag and bouncing off to class. But, with the influence of my new friend, the makeup tutor, things changed while I was still in junior secondary school class 3.

Just glad my grades didn’t drop. When I got into senior secondary class, I grew wings like an eagle. I tossed spirituality away like it was never part of me. I was a church girl whenever I visited home, but my mind was a distance away.

You see, it’s possible to get carried away by your new level of affluence, wealth, or freedom to a point that you disregard things that matter the most, like your SPIRITUAL ALTAR. Only a few successful people still have time to commit themselves to establishing a firm Christian standard in their lives or homes. This goes beyond traditional church activities.

In your home, how often do your children even see you studying your own Bible let alone having a fellowship time at home as a family? It’s funny how the devil plays this game so well. Using financial success as bait for spiritual failure.

As a student who is far away from home, when was the last time you picked up your Bible to study or even discuss the gospel with your friends? Some may even call this lifestyle OLD SCHOOL.

In between the attention I got as an attractive senior girl in school, one thing never skipped my mind… my Dad’s reaction. For some of us, the fear of our African fathers is also the beginning of wisdom.

All through my remaining days in secondary school, I didn’t remember the encounter I had with the Lord in my small corner alongside my Christian friends five years ago. I was so distracted by things that had no eternal value and I was totally lost in my desires that I forgot the gift and calling of God over my life.

Have you ever been here at some point in your life too? Where you often get so carried away by your carnal cravings that you miss out on what God has in store for you. For some persons, it may be the influence of a new environment or circle of friends.

When you spend time among people who do not share the same spiritual values or depth as you, with time they will also draw you back. All these changes happened to me because I found myself in the wrong circle. Those friends who prayed with me the last time were no longer my favorite company.

I spent four years walking outside of purpose because I chose my own path instead of sticking to God’s plans for my life. God did teach me so many lessons afterward.

I’ll get into that next episode. Have you ever felt like you’re drifting away from God’s will for your life or struggled to detach from the wrong company of friends? Kindly share how you manage to pull through in the comment section.

  • My Christian Journey 2

My Journey Into Ministry, How It All Started (Continued) Read previous

I still remember that cold night in 2004, on my little bed in the lower bunk. My roommate who was a year older approached. “Abigail, do you know how to smoke?”

“Erhmm, how do you do that?” I asked. She picked up a matchbox, stroke it with the match stick, and dipped it in her mouth. It went off inside her mouth and she fancily released the smoke. How fascinating! My eyes widened and I got too excited.

I was about trying mine when Our Matron stepped out; we quickly lay back in our beds and pretended to be sleeping. Whenever the devil wants to steal something precious from you, he distracts you with something even more interesting.

My School was anti-religious, so we held social nights every two weeks instead of religious activities. Normally, I don’t join social nights because it wasn’t part of me. The type of music and dancing style wasn’t sitting well with the Christian girl in me. But after mingling more, I became a regular social night attendee.

I will climb the top of the concrete for everyone to have a satisfying view of my dance steps. I thought I was having fun…but I noticed that I couldn’t exercise my spiritual gifts as often as I used to.

At a point, I stopped praying and observing Bible studies. There was hardly any focus on my spiritual growth. You know, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are meant to be nurtured and treasured. When you throw it to the wind, the Lord simply gets another worthy vessel to embody those gifts.

I remember when Rita asked me if I liked makeup. She was glad to be my mentor. Now I was excited to begin my journey into SLAYING! If you are coming across this piece as a parent or caregiver, I want you to also understand that a good upbringing is not enough to sustain a child through their developmental years (7-22years).

After you must have done your part as a parent by instilling the right values in them, you must constantly put your children before God in your prayers so that the Lord will guide them to the right people and keep those good values in their hearts always.

Did I turn worse or improve? You’ll find out in the next episode. Have you ever been in a situation where you compromised your faith and spiritual values over worldly pleasures? Kindly share in the comment.

  • My Christian Journey

My Journey Into Ministry, How It All Started

I can still remember the crowded atmosphere of my secondary school dormitory in Mayflower Ikenne, several years back. I think we were almost 200 to one matron in a hall. I stayed on the top floor and my bunk was placed a few blocks away from the toilet, just in case I couldn’t control my pee at midnight (laughs)

Just like every other primary school graduate, I was super excited to begin my journey in higher learning and far away from home in a boarding house. But, what I wasn’t aware of was the dimension God was planning to express himself through me as a child.

In no time, I became an expert in eating beans, because that was the only breakfast we had every morning. Beans and Pap was the winning combination. Almost every student including me believed that beans made people tall. Wait, is that true?

One evening during my third year, a few of my friends and I gathered in fellowship, and we enjoyed the visit and beauty of the Holy Spirit in our midst that night. Oh! What a night it was… I can never forget that very moment.

I remember that very moment like yesterday. As my eyes were tightly shut, all I could see was a plain white screen before me. I saw nothing else, but I kept hearing his words like whispers reaching out to me. I began to shed tears uncontrollably. I kept shivering at the ambiance of his presence. That was my first call and encounter.

At this time, I was unconscious of my environment or the happenings around me, all I could recall after I opened my eyes was sitting on the floor drenched in tears while others were still singing the worship song we all started with. That encounter changed everything for me. It was after that, the gift of prophecy began to find expression in my life.

I still remember how my mates and even my seniors approached me on different issues and I’ll pray with them and minister prophetically to them. I was still a child, and unprepared on how to nurture or handle the gift of the Spirit at that time.

My school didn’t support religious organizations either, so there was no one to mentor me through it and since I was far from home where my parents could have helped, I was left with a big responsibility to grow and nurture my spiritual gift. Because I was still vulnerable, the devil came after my gift through social influence.

Oh! That young Jesus Girl began her groove life and I wasn’t taking it slow. I attempted….. To be Continued.

  • Dear Teenager & Youth

Please understand that people do not have all the time to respond to everyone. So, endeavour to always go straight to the point and patiently wait for their responses. If you are not responded to; do not feel bad about it, there might be a reason behind it.

Wear “HONOUR” as an ornament. You do not need to know the age of people you meet online before respecting them. Communicate honor to people at all times, irrespective of their ages.

Not every post or content is worth your time. There’s no need of spending time on pictures of celebrities or friends that are half naked; scroll and pass things that are irrelevant as far as your sanity is concerned. What you see, has the capacity of affecting your thoughts and imagination, so, do not focus on things that will corrupt your soul.

Before you spend time seeing any “COMEDY” ask yourself what you will learn from it. Is the content of the “Comedy” you see edifying? What do they seek to teach? Do you care to know why you have suddenly started lying and playing unnecessary pranks on people? You become what you constantly give your time and attention to. What you see or hear finds its way to your mind. Please, Use your time wisely!

    Mary Bassey ✍️
  • Dear Teenager

Do you know that God has placed people above and around you, to teach you things that are necessary for your destiny actualization?

God wants you to be properly built and trained in order to represent Him maximally; that’s why He placed you in the midst of people. However, your response to these people God has blessed you with will determine if the training/learning process will be effective (work for your life) or truncated (wouldn’t work).

Do you know that your parents, guardians, brothers and sisters that constantly correct you are not sent by the devil? I’m aware their humanity may interfere with the way they pass on the message, but I will plead with you to ignore their manner of approach and learn the lessons, because you will sure need them for survival in the future. They may shout, beat or even threaten you; your duty is to pay attention to the message without interpreting their efforts as hatred or attack.

Have you ever taken time to consider people’s complain about you? Why is everyone complaining the same thing, about that aspect of your life? It’s important to pay attention. Sincerely ask the Holy Spirit to help you in every area of weakness.

You may not understand why your parents keep shouting at you every time; probably, the way they were raised might have influenced them.

On the other hand, the situation they find themselves can also be the problem. They are not bad people as you think, but are truly concerned about your well being. I’m not justifying their approach, but I’m only encouraging you to learn what you ought to learn now.

Truly, celebrate the people around you, love and respect them regardless of their weaknesses. You are sure accountable to God and people God has placed over you, you shouldn’t make up excuses to disobey or dishonour them, you are inexcusable before God.

Lastly, examine the Bible passage below: But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your rememberance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)

The Holy Spirit will use men to teach you the major lessons you need for life. Determine not to let the approach rob you off the opportunity to learn. Jesus loves you!

Lots of Careless believers and unbelievers may not survive this year, because the devil is so desperate, as the end of days is drawing near. May you not be among the Careless believers in Jesus name.
